Dr. Blackburn is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, 2 sweet daughters, and dog Luna. As a former collegiate track and cross country runner, she enjoys distance running, but has more recently found herself sprinting after her toddler. She loves painting, swimming, and has a deep appreciation for the arts.

Biography

Dr. Karen Blackburn has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in the area for over a decade. She graduated fro Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. She moved to Washington, DC to complete her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University. Dr. Blackburn has been in private practice since 2014 and is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is currently affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Dr Blackburn takes pride in her caring bedside manner, in depth medical knowledge, and outpatient surgical skills. She has been consistently named one of Washingtonian’s Magazine’s “Top Doctors.” Her practice encompasses women of all ages from puberty to menopause. She enjoys spending time building relationships with her patients and providing them the best possible care.
